ESL Documentation

The system menu attribute specifies that the region will contain a system menu. The system menu button will be in the upper left corner of the region above the viewport and to the left of the title bar. The operating system requires a title bar in order to display the system menu. If you do not specify a title bar, ESL supplies one displaying the full file name of the ESL binary.

When the user clicks on the system menu button, the following choices are displayed:

Restore

Move

Size

Minimize

Maximize

Close        Alt + F4

Note that a letter in each choice is underlined. The underlined letter is the mnemonic for that choice. (See Mnemonics.)  In addition, the choice Close to can be accessed by pressing their accelerator keys (Alt + F4).

If the region is minimized or maximized, the user can select Restore to restore the region to its size and position before minimize or maximize was invoked.

The user can select Move or click on the title bar to move the region.

If a size border has been specified for the region, the user can select Size or use the size border to resize the region.

If a minimize button has been defined for the region, the user can select Minimize to minimize the region, unless the region is already minimized.

If a maximize button has been defined for the region, the user can select Maximize to maximize the region, unless the region is already maximized.

The user can select Close or press Alt + F4 to close active an primary window and its children. You can also use Alt + F4 to close a currently active child of the desktop and its children. Double-clicking on the top left-hand corner of the active window or selecting Close with the mouse or tab from the pull-down in the system menu closes the individual windows.
