The read action statements that apply to textual regions apply to image regions. The read statement allows the user to fill an image region's contents dynamically at runtime, perhaps in response to some event. If no file extension is specified, ESL will use the extension configured in the PICTYPE parameter of the ESL configuration file, or the default .BMP default.
