If errors occur during the compile process, DB/Assist displays information about the errors in the Log window, and does not generate ESL code for those statements with errors.
The Log window appears automatically when you verify or compile a SAM However, you can also select SQL Access Module Ø View log to display the most recent Log for the current SAM. For information about how to display the log, see Displaying the Log.
Even if DB/Assist is unable to compile certain statements in the SAM, it still generates code to a file, and creates a bind file for those statements that did compile.
The only situation in which DB/Assist does not create a bind file is if DB/Assist is unable to compile any of the statements in the SAM.
Creating a bind file only when code is successfully generated ensures that the bind file and generated ESL code are always synchronized.
