To use QuikStep effectively, you should be an experienced ESL programmer who is familiar with the following:
•The ESL language
•Debugging ESL or other fourth generation language applications
•Microsoft Windows
ESL You should be able to understand the following about the Language ESL language and its architecture. Specifically, you should have an understanding of:
•ESL syntax, its language elements, and functionality
•ESL file extensions and file architecture
•ESL production system and runtime system components
You should be able to understand the following about debugging:
•Debugging concepts and methods.
•Setting breakpoints.
•Querying and setting variable data.
You should know how to use Microsoft Windows or a Windows comparable graphical user interface. Specifically, you should be able to:
•Move and size windows.
•Access pulldown menus and select menu choices using the mouse or keyboard.
•Complete dialog boxes.
