Response Inquiry Built-in Function

Return the identifiers of the parent(s) of the object/item that triggered the current response.

ancestry

Description

For objects, ESL returns the fully-qualified name string of the parent(s) of the object that stimulated the response.

For items, ESL returns a string value representing the full ancestry specification of the object the item is in, including the object name.

The contents of ancestry are valid only until the response completes.
