An item can be created enabled or disabled. This status can be changed using the enable item and disable item action statements, which can be applied to pull-downs, choices, or buttons in any region or class of regions.

When an action bar or pull-down item is disabled, it is grayed and cannot be selected. In this respect, it behaves differently than other ESL objects, which do not change appearance when disabled. This is because items are disabled by the operating system.
