If you have made changes to the contents of a project (options, breakpoints, text in the Project Notes window), you are asked if you wish to save the changes when you close the project. At this time, you may choose to save the changes by pressing the Yes push button, discard them by pressing the No push button, or cancel the close operation by pressing the Cancel push button.

Do not close the project now. When you close the project later, answer Yes to the question about saving changes, if QuikStep prompts you to do so.
