ESL uses Windows Serial or "WinSocket" communications facilities for remote application communications.  The "WinSocket" facility was introduced with ESL release 15.20, although the Serial communication facility has always been present. Whilst it is not possible to concurrently communicate with both Serial and WinSocket, it is possible to write an ESL application that can be configured at runtime to communicated with a specified method (See. Configuring Remote Communication).

Use the start remote action statement to start the application.
