Error Messages

Message:	Bad emulate command combination
Description:	This error condition occurs if you pass an invalid input, consisting of incompatible window commands, to the EcsSetEmulatorWindow subroutine.

Message:	Bad emulate command
Description:	This error condition will occur if you pass an invalid input to the EcsSetEmulatorWindow subroutine.

ECS_E_BADINDICATOR (22)

Message:	Indicator is unavailable for current session type
Description:	This error condition will occur if you specify an invalid value for the input variable Indicator of the EcsCheckIndicator subroutine, or a 3270 indicator is specified and the current session is 5250, or vice versa.

ECS_E_BADKEYCODE (27)

Message:	Key code is unrecognized
Description:	This error condition will occur if you specify an invalid value for the input variable KeyCode of the EcsPressKey subroutine.

ECS_E_BADSCRID (11)

Message:	Screen ID file has illegal syntax
Description:	ScreenIDFile that contains screen information is corrupted.

ECS_E_BADTIME (28)

Message:	Illegal time (0 < time < hour)
Description:	This error condition will occur if you specify an invalid value for the input variable SettleTime of the EcsWatchForIIOff subroutine.

ECS_E_CANTINIT (9)

Message:	Cannot initialize
Description:	Could not initialize. This error indicates that the required hardware or software is not installed. For example, the IBM Enhanced 3270/5250 Emulation Adapter is installed, but the emulator software is not resident.

ECS_E_CANTLOAD (23)

Message:

Cannot load EHLLAPI module

Description:

This error condition will occur if ESL cannot locate the

PCSHLL32.DLL or the DLL file specified in the ESLCMSRV.INI.

ECS_E_ERRORFREE (0)

Message:	No errors detected
Description:	There are no errors present.

ECS_E_FILLSWITCH (26)

Message:	Invalid fill switch specified
Description:	This error condition will occur if you specify an invalid value for input variable FillFlag of the EcsWriteField subroutine, or if ECS_FILLWITHNULLS is specified for a 5250 session.

ECS_E_FLDATTR (25)

Message:	Invalid field attribute specified
Description:	This error condition will occur if you specify an invalid value for the input variable FieldAttribute of the EcsGetFieldAttribute subroutine.

ECS_E_FLDNUM (1)

Message:

Invalid field number

Description:

The value of a specified field doesn't fall into valid range between 1 and FieldCount, which is obtained by calling EcsGetFieldCount subroutine, and contains the maximum number of fields on the current screen.

Description:	This error condition will occur if you try to connect to a session already connected to another process.

ECS_E_LINENUM (3)

Message:

Invalid line number

Description:

The specified line number was not within a valid range. For 5250 sessions, you can specify line numbers between 1 and 24 inclusive. With occasional error conditions, you can specify line number 25, only for 5250 sessions, when OIA contains an error message. For 3270 sessions, valid range will vary depending on the MOD of the current active session. These MOD (screen size) changes occur dynamically and care must be taken invoking EcsGetLastNonBlankLineNumber and EcsReadLine.

ECS_E_MULTWATCH (21)

Message:

Multiple watches are not supported

This error condition will occur if you invoke EcsWatch or EcsWatchAndWait subroutines, with one of them already in process. This can occur if EcsWatch or EcsWatchAndWait are invoked with AutoWaitFlag being set to ON, which will automatically call EcsWatchAndWait.

ECS_E_NOFLDS (7)

Message:

Screen contains no fields

Description:

This error condition can occur when there are no fields on the current screen and a subroutine that references field information is being invoked.

ECS_E_NOSTATUS (24)

Message:

Cannot determine emulator's status

Description:

Internal EHLLAPI call failed.

Message:

Action is not available in this configuration

Description:

This error condition will occur if you try to invoke ECS emulation calls.

Description:	This error condition will occur if you try to invoke any ECS subroutine, without being connected to active session.

ECS_E_NOTINIT (17)

Message:	Not initialized - command was ignored
Description:	This error condition will occur if EcsConnect was not the first ECS subroutine called. All other calls will invoke this error event, until EcsConnect gets called.

ECS_E_NOT3270SESSION (19)

Message:

Not connected to a 3270 session

Description:

This error condition will occur if you invoke ECS 3270 session subroutines, while being connected to a 5250 session.

Description:	Subroutine EcsWriteField was invoked with a protected field specified by FieldNumber.

ECS_E_ROWCOL (5)

Message:	(Row, Column) is not on screen
Description:	The input variables Row and Column specified a character position that was not within the current screen buffer.

ECS_E_SCRIDFILE (10)

Message:	Screen ID file not found
Description:	ScreenIDFile that contains screen information cannot be located.

ECS_E_SCRNAREA (4)

Message:

Invalid screen area limits

Description:

The values of Top, Bottom, Left, and Right that specify an area that resides within the screen buffer are not valid.

Message:

Failed to send keystroke(s)

Description:

This error condition can occur when an ESL application fails to send information to the host, and this event was detected by ECS.

Message:

Invalid session name

Description:

This error condition will occur if you specify an invalid session name. A valid name must be one of the 3270/5250 host session short names configured under the emulation software.

Message:	Empty or invalid WatchCommandString
Description:	This error condition will occur whenever the user specifies
	an invalid watch string and invokes the ECS Watch Facility.

Description:

This error condition will occur if you specify an invalid value for the input variable string of the EcsWatchForStringAt and EcsWatchForStringNotAt subroutines.

Message:	Key unavailable for current session type
